Well friends, it has been very nearly a year since I gave birth to my beloved son, and just this morning I finally saw my pre-pregnancy weight on the scale. Can you believe it?
I've been doubling up on my workouts and seriously monitoring what I eat.
If I had to do it over again, I would probably start the weight-loss efforts earlier post-partum, but I just felt like taking care of Jack was all I could handle for so long. And I was soothing my tired nerves with food. Plus, I didn't want to ruin my milk production by starving myself.
I'm definitely NOT one of those people for whom breastfeeding just melted the fat away. Maybe I'm actually the opposite; as in now that I stopped breastfeeding, I finally lose the weight. Hmmm.
I'd like to lose about 5-10 more pounds and stay there a little while before I get pregnant again...whenever that is. We'll see.
Anywho...now we'll all celebrate with some Father's Day pancakes!

Wow, Mary that is a huge accomplishment!!! Congratulations! =)
ReplyDeleteI get really impatient with weighty matters. It took me about nine months to get back into my pre-pregnancy pants. That all by itself makes me happy. But why, when I look at pictures of myself, do I only see chubby arms? Ugh, I just try not to think about it when the cookies come out of the oven. There are more important things in life—chocolate being one of them.
ReplyDeleteWooHoo! I just gave birth 6 days ago and can't believe how much I have to lose! YIKES. Glad to hear that it can be done. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I'm still not totally to my pre-pregnancy weight, so I'm impressed you made it!
